My best holidays

At every summer, I go with my parents to the south of Chile, specifically to the region of Los Ríos, and there we visit the city of Valdivia, that is where I was born. So, my best holidays are when we go to that city every year.

I really love that city not only because i was born there, but because his landscapes and the (at least for me) confortable weather that are there, not too hot and reasonably cold, I mean its a kind of cold that isn't too wet because the winds (Valdivia is located near the coast, that why the constants winds); and at summer, that is when I go there, there is a clear sky with the sun warming, but the air is really fresh, so it's a pleasure to walk around the city.

Also, the people there are different from the people of Santiago, they are more kindly than Santiago's people, so it's easily to ask for some indications or whatever we need. Maybe it's because they lives more relaxed than people in Santiago, or because in general the environment of Valdivia inspires the people to be better persons.

About what places we visit there, we love to go to a cafe - restaurant called "Café Das Hauss" that is in front of the coastal and the mercado (a big market where you can find since food like fish or vegetables to handmade things, and also where you can eat sea food) and near of the main square of the city. There we have the tradition to ask for a tártaro (it's a plate of raw meat with chop onion and pickles) that is accompanied whit toast whit butter, half cutted lemons and a sauce made of flavorless yogurt, mayonnaise, and coriander. With this things you prepare crudos, by putting up in order: the meat, the lemon juice, the onions and pickles, the sauce, and if you dare, yellow chili pepper. And how it's a tradition in Valdivia (city that was colonized by german people) we ask for a Kuntsmann beer, obviously all of us but my little 7 years old brother, that is not yet a beer's fan, but in a future I think he will be a fan same as us.

And finally, other place I love to go is the Botanic Garden of the Austral University of Chile, that is located on Isla Teja, like an 40 minutes from Valdivia. There is an huge variety of trees and shubbery, and birds, and is near to the famous wetlands of Valdivia, where sometimes you can see some black neck swans swimming there. Is't an amazing place to know and spend the day!
